With a distinguished history in sports timing, Longines’ association with international competition can be traced back to the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens, where it served as an official timekeeper.
Presenting this Longines Olympian from the 1960s, remarkably preserved in near pristine condition and complete with its original box and papers. Its exceptional state of preservation suggests it has seen very minimal wrist time throughout the decades.
Crafted in a beautiful stainless steel cushion shape case with brush finishes on the bezel that is very well defined. Featuring a cream white sunburst dial with its date window at 4:30 position much like the Ultra-Chron series in that era.
Similar to the Ultra-Chron, powering the watch is Longines’ in-house high-beat Cal. 6651, operating at an impressive 28,800 vibrations per hour (8 beats per second). It also features an instantaneous date change at midnight, showcasing Longines’ continued technical development during the era and further cementing the Ultra-Chron’s place as one of the brand’s more technically ambitious vintage timepieces.
This set comes with its original box, display case, paper & tag, strap & buckle.
